Guitarist, composer and musical arranger Andrés Ángel (Medellín, Colombia) started playing the guitar at an early age. At the age of 10 he began his studies at the Conservatorio de Bellas Artes de Medellín and later he went on to the University of Antioquia.
To fulfil his ambition of becoming a professional guitar player he moved to Europe to study classical guitar under the guidance of Michael Buchrainer in Feldkirch (Austria) at the Vorarlberger Landeskonservatorium, where he graduated with honours as a guitar soloist.
During these years he studied with renowned teachers such as Manuel Barrueco, Alvaro Pierri, Odair Assad, David Russel, Carlo Domeniconi, Pavel steidl, Dale Kavanagh, Jorge Luis Zamora, Anders Miolin and Gerald García. He also spent a year in Seville (Spain), where he studied with Francisco Bernier at the Conservatorio Superior de Música.
After his graduation he decided to specialise in flamenco guitar. To this end he returned to Seville, now dedicating himself exclusively to the art of flamenco as a musician and composer. In his continuous efforts to perfect his skills and deepen his understanding of flamenco, Andrés enrolled at the Fundación de Arte Flamenco Cristina Heeren and also became a student at the Academy of Eduardo Rebollar (Artes Escénicas Rebollar). During these years he studied with great masters of flamenco, such as: Niño de Pura, Paco Cortés, Pedro Sierra and José Galván among others.
As his career took off he started working alongside many renowned flamenco artists. In more recent years he has been working as a solo artist, composing and recording his own music. His first album INFLEXIÓN was released in June 2016 and has been touring throughout Europe in 2016 and 2017. His new album SUPERNOVA was released in January 2019 and will be performed live on tour starting in May 2019.
